With the help of Tavern Hospitality Group and Image Audio Visuals, this event is held bi-monthly from January-September. Local bands donate their time to perform for the children and staff at TCH on the Gallagher Event Lawn or in the Atrium for one hour on Sunday afternoons. Prior to their 2:00 performances, band members visit the rooms of severely ill children that aren’t able to come to the public performance so that they, too, may experience the healing power of music.
The true beauty of this community service project is that it doesn’t just bring joy to the patients at the hospital – it deeply affects all of those involved. “Seeing the reaction on the children’s faces reminded me why I like to write and play music,” said Scott Aller, member of Boulder Acoustic Society. “Our performance at TCH continues to inspire me to write songs that will forever affect people in the most positive way.”
During the summer of 2009, JD Feighner and The Mellow Ride had the opportunity to perform for the patients and created a video that documented their show.
