May 22, 2010 Multiple Sites Denver, CO
This spring, Concerts For Kids participated in the 2010 Denver Volunteers initiative by joining Denver’s Road Home and Comcast in an effort to increase awareness of volunteerism, as well as remind people of its importance and impact in the community. The organizations asked volunteers to donate a day of service on May 22 to make a difference in this city we all call home.
Concerts For Kids fulfilled their part to help Denver spring into action by bringing over 500 volunteers together to complete over 3,500 hours of work in one, six-hour day for our 5th Annual Community Day. Teams of volunteers dispersed to 42 pre-selected non-profits within the Denver Metro area and completed multiple facility fix-up projects, including painting, landscaping, cleaning, roofing, carpeting and much more!
In addition to dedicated volunteers, sponsors were recruited to help make this year's event a success. From providing lunch to donating roofing supplies and labor, companies across the nation embraced the opportunity to help make our community a better place.
On Saturday, May 22, these organizations received facility maintenance and improvements – allowing the site to use their operating funds for the primary programming needs.
We have created site-specific packages that explain the costs associated with the projects requested for the 2010 Community Day. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring a specific site, please click on any of the ones listed below for more information. We look forward to seeing everyone for our 2011 Community Day!
